Conveniently located just southwest of Houston, Edgewater Studios is situated only three minutes from the Southwest Freeway at Williams Trace Blvd, and just 13 minutes from inner-loop Houston. Our studios are in the heart of Sugar Land, TX - one of the safest cities in America filled with plenty of dining, shopping, hotel, and entertainment options.

ABOUT THE STUDIO

SPACE

Edgewater Studios was professionally-designed by Jeff Hedback of HDAcoustics, whose studios feature annually in Mix Magazine. It was purpose-built from the ground up to be one of the finest in Texas, featuring an amazing control room, tracking room with 16-foot ceilings, and three isolation booths.

MONITORING

The monitoring design (featuring Focal and Genelec monitors) and room tuning was done by Russ Berger (NFL Network, Lakewood Church, Paragon Studios). Russ is the former President of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants and a Fellow in the Acoustical Society of America. He has certified the mix position at Edgewater as “extremely accurate,” which is why our mixes translate well when they leave the studio.

EQUIPMENT

Edgewater Studios features some of the finest equipment available for a music and commercial audio recording studio, including a Neve 5060 Centerpiece, Neve, Vintech, and API-style preamps, outboard processing by Empirical Labs, API, and Warm Audio, and a workhorse Pro Tools HDX System with a massive plugin collection by Universal Audio, Slate Digital, Waves Audio, Sonnox, Sound Toyz, and iZotope, among others. Our large and diverse mic locker ensures we always have incredible options for the miking of any audio application.

BACKLINE

In addition to recording equipment, Edgewater features an amazing backline available to all clients, including a 1960’s Hammond A-101 organ with vintage Leslie, a PDP Platinum drum kit with multiple snares from companies like Q Drum Co, Ludwig, and DW, an outstanding collection of guitars by Fender, Guild, Martin, Breedlove, and Epiphone, with multiple amp and cabinet configurations by Fender, Vox, Dr. Z, Matchless, and Fargen.
